It was a session of all the "ball" sports this week with Football, Benchball and Boccia all played. The weather held up enough for us to be out on the playground to start with, not bad for October, so Ray kicked things off by leading the warm up. This includes jogging, skipping and whole bunch of different stretches. It was then time for some football skills practice so the kids grabbed a ball each to practice their dribbling. Ollie then led a ball dribbling themed traffic light game with red being stop with your foot on the ball, yellow being move the ball between left foot to right whilst standing still and green for go - dribble the ball with both feed as you make your way around the playground. They then did some passing in pairs, with two lines of cones separating the partners that they had to pass the ball across. Lastly they did some dribbling around cones and the passing to their partner. We then put all that practice to use in a small game. The group split in to two teams and despite the yellows appearing to be outnumbered they triumphed 3-1 with Hal and Kerrie amongst the goal scorers, Harry pulling one back for the opposition. After the break we moved inside from some great games of Benchball. Again we split in to two teams and the green team won the first game easily but the yellow team fought back to level up by winning the next game. It was in to a decider and down to the last player on each team but the green team won through with Ollie being the last person to get home to the bench. We finished off the session with a few games of Boccia but the blue team won all three games and Kealan didnt miss once! Stars of the week this week were Charlotte and Kealan - well done both and a very happy birthday to Kealan for next week. Comments are closed.
