I was away for the last session before the summer break but here are a couple of photos taken during the session, which included Parachute Games, Rob the Nest, Archery and Boccia. We hope you all have a wonderful summer break and if you manage to get away we hope you have a lovely time.
We look forwards to seeing you back in September - Saturday 10th 10am as usual Another lovely day at Epping Forest Sportability Club. We started as always with a warm up. It was led by Ray and as well as the usual stretches and jogging it included a game of Rob the Nest. We then started on the main sport of the day - Hockey. Each child grabbed a stick and tennis ball and began by practicing ball control. This included a Traffic light game where when Ollie held up a red cone the kids had to stop still with the ball. Yellow cone meant move the ball side to side on the spot and green to go around the playground dribbling the ball under close control. We then moved on to dribbling around a course of cones, some shooting and passing practice and it all culminated in some small sided games. After the main break we moved inside to play some Benchball. We split in to three teams playing 5 minute games so that they all played each other. We finished off the day with some Boccia. The group split in to two teams at either end of the hall. The red team won all three Hoop games but the blue's won the nearest the jack game. Well done to all - a great session all round. Our Star of the Week awards went this week to Kerrie and Davina - well done to both of you! Join us again next Saturday which will be our last session before the Summer break. We will then be back on Sept 11th for the start of the Autumn term. It was a lovely morning at Oak View School on Saturday morning so we made the most of the weather and practised some football skills out on the playground. Ray led the usual warm up and then Alan led the football session practising ball control skills such as dribbling side to side, moving around the playground with the ball and around cones. In the middle of that Ollie led a traffic light game based on dribbling and ball control. After a quick refreshment break Alan included some shooting practice in to the routine so the kids would dribble the ball around cones before shooting, then dribbling the ball back and passing on to the next person. We then put all that good practice to use in a small sided game of football which the Yellow team won comfortably 6-2 with Callum getting a hat-trick. After the main break we played Football Rounders once again as it was such a success last week. We then finished the session with some Archery in the hall with the group staying in two groups so that they all had a few goes. At the end of the session the coaches awarded the Star of the Week awards to Hal and Zakaa - well done lads! Join us again next Saturday for our penultimate meeting of the school year! |
