After a tag game called scarecrow tag to start things off we then spend the rest of the session playing golf in the lovely autumn weather. First there was putting practice on the play ground which not only tested accuracy of the aim but also strength of the putt and distance. Coach Alan first set up a game where they had to putt as close to a line as possible before them moving on to putting towards holes (the rings in the pictures). After a break play then resumed on the field where they practised driving but aiming at a big target. Our Star of the Week was Jenny as she took part really well in the whole session. Jenny is pictured with coach Alan - well done! Note to all Parents, Carers and interested parties - our annual AGM is in two weeks time at 10:15 on Saturday 10th October at Oak View School (i.e. during the Saturday session). This is a chance to have your say on how the club is run in the future, to make suggestions, provide feedback and to elect the committee for the year ahead. Therefore, can all make every effort to attend. Thank you.
Our members enjoyed some fun in the sun this week as we played a variety of sports. We started with some Tag games such as 'Capture the Flag' and 'Crumbs & Crusts' followed by a game of 'Rob the Nest'. We then played Dodgeball out on the playground in the sun which was great fun. The smaller members enjoyed some time in the ball pool with coach Georgia supervising to ensure they didnt get flattened by a flying ball! Later in the session we had a game of football, again in the sun on the play ground. At the end of the session the coaches decided that Ollie was the star of the week especially for helping little Theo during the earlier Tag Games. Well done Ollie! With the Rugby World Cup fast approaching it was time to brush up on the rugby skills at Epping Forest Sportability Club this week. The session started with some ball handling drills and was followed by some exciting one vs. one tag rugby games. The aim was one player had to run and pick up a rugby ball and return it to the base before the opponent run around a bollard and caught (tagged) them. After the rugby, and to mark the end of the Ashes, we then played some Kwik Cricket out in the sunshine. Everyone got a turn to bat and bowl and between times helped with the fielding.
At the end of the session coaches Ciara and Ray decided that Kerrie was the Star of the Week Hi, it was great to see those that came along yesterday to our first meeting after summer. Hopefully we will see more members, new and old, next week but that did not stop us having a fun time despite the rainy weather. As you can see from the photos above we enjoyed some basketball skills training followed by games of hockey and bench ball. Our star of the week was Lesley - voted for by Ciara and Georgia our assistant coaches - who took part really well in each of the sports played. Well done Lesley, keep it up. Lesley can be seen with coach Alan in the photo below. See you all next Saturday!
