It was great to be back at Sportability after the half term break. It was a blisteringly hot morning so we started out on the playground but soon had to come inside to get out of the scorching sun! The session started with the kids grabbing a basketball each and dribbling around the playground. Alan then led a traffic light game. The coaches then laid out some cones for the kids to dribble around. They then had to try and throw the ball so that it bounced in the hoop at the far end. We then came inside for some shooting practice. We formed two lines, one for each basket, so that when the kids had a shot at one basket they then joined the line for the other one. We then played some one on one games with Ollie throwing the ball in and the kids competing to see who could be first to score a basket. After the main break we split in to three teams and played some round robin small sided games. The green team won the first game easily against the yellow team by 3 baskets to one. The blue team then took on the green's and it was a 4-4 draw. In the final game it was blue vs yellow and the blue team won a close fought game by 3-2. We finished off with a couple of games of Boccia. The red team won the first game and the blue team won the final game. At the end of the session the coaches awarded the Star of the Week awards to Alexander and Swaran for their efforts throughout the session - well done lads! Join us again next week for more fun and games. Comments are closed.
