The weather was scorching this week so it was nice to get out on to the school field for the first time this year. That allowed us to have some great fun doing some athletics and cricket. The athletics was in the form of an ever growing obstacle course. We started simple as always but Alan and the other coaches added new elements each time to make it harder each round. As you can see from the photos there were small hurdles, hoops to climb through and bean bags to move about. At the end some of the kids couldnt resist doing a race around the whole track as well. We also had time for some parachute games which are always great fun! After a break we moved on to some games of Quick Cricket. As we had a good turn out this week we were able to play two seperate games at the same time on different parts of the field. There was no bowling this time but rather the batter hit the ball off a tee with the object being to get as many runs as possible before the ball was returned by the fielders to a designated spot. Teamwork was important for the fielders therefore as they worked quickly to get the ball back using their throwing and catching skills. At the end of the session the coaches decided who was Star of the Week and this week they chose Zakaa so very well done to him. Lets hope next week the weather is just as good so we can get back out on to the field again! Comments are closed.
