No, not the type of handball seen at football matches but rather the sport of Handball. For those that have not seen or played it before Handball is similar to football in that two teams play each other with the aim of scoring the most goals. The big difference is that you throw and catch the ball rather than kick it. We started the session on Saturday with some basic games practising basic throwing and catching, in a big circle. We then moved on to throwing at targets in pairs before practising bouncing the ball and shooting with games becoming slightly more complicated as we went on. The session culminated in some team games. We split all the children in to three teams so that we could have a mini tournament and that allowed teams to rest between games. At the end of the session hopefully all the kids had great fun but also improved their ball skills in terms of catching as well as throwing at a target Just a reminder we have just two weeks left now before we break for Christmas! Finally the Star of the Week was awarded to Daniel so well done for getting so involved!
