Firstly apologies for the very late post this week but I was waiting to find out who was the star of the week last Saturday, as I had to leave early so missed that bit. More of that later but first a reminder that tomorrow is our club's AGM where we ask as many parents and carers to come along for an hour to discuss with us how the club is going and to talk about future plans. Please make every effort to attend - we will start at about 10:15 once the kids session is underway. Back to last Saturday which was quiet in comparison to previous weeks with less than ten children turning up. That said we got through quite a lot of skills work. They started with Basketball practicing dribbling, shooting and general ball control. Next was a game of Rob the Nest which got them running around and working in teams. After a break we then moved on to activities based around aiming and throwing. First was a game with bean bags where in each round the children were asked to throw the bags in to particular hoops from a sitting position. There were three hoops in all being near; middle and far. Therefore in one round it may be two in the near hoop and one in the far where as another round may be one in each. The last game was Boccia with two teams, at either end of the hall, aiming to get closest to the centre of the large target. This highlighted the need for ball control making sure the speed of the throw as well as the direction were spot on! At the end of the session the coaches all decided that the Star of the Week was Kerrie - well done!
